Approach to Open Access
AJIC's open access approach corresponds to the objectives of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities and the South African National Research Foundation (NRF) Statement on Open Access to Research Publications.
AJIC articles are published online under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. Contributors retain the copyrights and publishing rights in their contributions without restriction.
AJIC does not impose article processing charges (APCs) on its contributors.
AJIC's articles are indexed and hosted in the following open access databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) SA; Web of Science (under the SciELO citation index); Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ); Sabinet African Journals; and Wits University's WIReDSpace institutional repository.
